Position:  CLERICAL TEACHER’S ASSISTANT   
 
                                                                 PLAZA MIDDLE SCHOOL                              
·             Student attendance days
·             6 Hours Per Day                
·             $9.27 per hour (entry level) + benefits and single plan insurance
·             Effective as soon as details can be arranged
 
REQUIREMENTS:
·             High School diploma or equivalent
·             Typing and computer skills                                
·             Supervision of (3) lunch periods
·             AEA supervision
·             Strong interpersonal skills
·             Maintain regular attendance
·             Other duties as assigned
 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:   
Supervises students.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).  Previous office experience preferred.
 
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
None.
 
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret instructions from teachers and administrators.  Ability to read and comprehend documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence clearly and concisely  using correct grammar.  Ability to speak effectively to staff and students using correct grammar.
 
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
 
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
 
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to operate a personal computer and related software.  Ability to develop working relationships with students and staff.  Ability to perform duties with awareness of all corporation policies and state requirements.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for very long periods of time, as well as sit for long periods of time and to talk, see, and hear.  The employee is frequently required to walk.  The employee is often required to lift materials which weigh from 10 to 50 pounds.  He/she must bend and twist the neck and the trunk much more than the average person as well as squat, stoop, and kneel and reach forward and above the head.  The employee must continuously repeat the same hand, arm, and finger motion.  The employee must be able to see and read small print such as typed or handwritten material and have good depth perception.  The employee must be able to hear conversation in a noisy environment and to communicate through speech.  He/she is frequently exposed to infection (germs, bacteria, viruses).  He/she is constantly working to meet deadlines with severe time restraints.

The noise level in the work environment is acceptable to this environment.  The noise level, however, can vary, depending upon the daily activity such as the machinery being used and the number of people in the room.   The employee will frequently interact with the staff and, at times, with students.  The employee will continuously be required to meet multiple demands from several people.  The work environment includes inside and outside areas.  The work environment includes exposure to sunlight, risk of being bitten by animals or insects, exposure to environmental allergens (grass, weeds, pollens, trees), and occasional exposure to solvents, degreasers, pesticides, and/or herbicides.  The employee is exposed to CRT’s.
