St. Vrain
Valley School District is seeking applicants for the position of
Director of Human Resources. The District serves 27,000 students
in grades PreK-12 with 4,200 employees. The Director position
provides overall direction, leadership, support and collaboration
to identified departments and programs to enhance and improve
student achievement by developing and implementing systems and
processes for all human resources functions for recruiting,
hiring, and retaining highly effective personnel to meet
department and program goals. The Director provides support and
services to department and program administrators, supervisors
and staff to ensure a process of continuous improvement in an
environment where employees in the work force are valued and

Salary Range:
$83,162 - $114,843 (depending on academic degree &
experience)
Work Year:
248 days (excluding holidays & vacation time)
Starting Date:
August 2012 or as soon as possible thereafter
Qualifications
· Master's degree
in Human Resources or related field
· Minimum of
three years of experience in human resource or related field
(school district experience preferred)
· Possess current
knowledge/training in the areas of Employment Labor Law, EEOC
laws and Worker's Compensation laws
· Demonstrated
skills and knowledge in recruiting, hiring and retaining
personnel from diverse backgrounds, cultures and experiences
· Demonstrated
skills in dealing with a variety of people in complex
situations
· Effective
verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to work
in a collaborative manner with supervisors, managers and
staff
· Demonstrated
effectiveness as both a team leader and team member
· Understanding
of and experience in conducting investigations regarding employee
conduct and performance issues
· Understanding
of and experience in workplace safety issues, regulations and
training
· Ability to work
effectively with culturally diverse populations
· Bilingual
language ability preferred
Responsibilities
· Serve as the
Human Resources liaison for all position control and employment
process to the following departments: Auxiliary Services,
Community Schools, Financial Services, Learning Services, Student
Services and Technology Services
· Consult and
advise department and programs administrators, supervisors and
managers regarding all human resources department policies,
practices and procedures for identified staff
· Maintain
current knowledge of and ensure that human resources and district
staff comply with Board policies, state and federal laws,
negotiated agreements and employee handbooks
· Conduct
interviews and lead investigations, in coordination with
department and program administrators, supervisors and managers
regarding employee conduct, performance and dispute/grievance
issues
· Lead and manage
the performance appraisal process for employees in assigned
departments and programs
· Establish and
maintain positive working relationships with key district staff,
association/bargaining unit leadership
· Participate in
planning and conducting employee training and professional
development for assigned areas
· Serve on Human
Resources department leadership team
