The Council Bluffs Community School District is seeking applicants for the following anticipated teaching positions for the 2012-2013 school year:
Math Teacher
Kirn Middle School
Qualifications
· Hold or able to obtain an Iowa secondary teaching license with 5-12 Mathematics
Endorsement with Talented and Gifted Endorsement preferred.
Preferred Characteristics
· Knowledgeable about using inquiry in math and other effective researched based teaching strategies
· Shows enthusiasm in working with the middle school learner
· Student centered in instruction
· Demonstrates effective communication skills involving students, colleagues, and parents
· Ability to motivate students through use of hands-on science/math activities
· Demonstrates a cooperative, collaborative, problem-solving attitude
· Demonstrates effective strategies in managing students
· Demonstrates flexibility and a strong desire for continual professional growth and is able to willingly accept positive and constructive feedback
· Hearing and visual acuity required
· Ability to integrate technology in the classroom
· Willingness to actively support building goals
