Position
Summary:
The Multimedia Production Technician paraprofessional serves
as an expert in the area of multimedia – including audio/video production,
graphic design, and social media. This
is done through multiple tasks which include sound systems, in-studio and
remote production, computer graphics design, editing, duplication, equipment,
and programming. The paraprofessional
must have an entry-level knowledge of audio/video production and design and be
able to work well with students, staff, administrators and community members to
assist them in the completion of many different types of multimedia
requests. He/she must be able to: 1)
organize production crews as well as complete programming assignments; 2)
visualize and create production ideas that are creative and meet the
requirements of district leadership; and 3) understand (or be willing to learn)
new technologies and have a grasp of social media.
Duties:
Work with the Comminications Office to: *Create and complete graphic design requests for print, online, and television publications. *Develop and maintain social media and electronic publication requests (including graphics and online production). *Research and write reports on department progress, events, and activities.
Work with the Rochester Instructional Television Systems (RITS) Department to: *Provide on-going communication with staff, administration, and community about services and resources available through RITS. *Instruct staff and administration on the uses of audio-visual technology. *Trouble-shout problems with audio-visual and television equipment ans systems at all district buildings. *Maintain audio-visual and television equipment for check-out to staff and students. * Record, edit, program, and release relevant production events. *Act as point of contact and add programming for cable channel 22.
Requirements: *Has a two-year degree in communication or production *Has entry-level experience in production, graphic design and design programs, and/or technical communication *Works well with students, staff and administration *Can visualize and create production ideas that are creative and meet the requirements of district leadership *Understands new technologies and has a grasp of social media and social media design * Has a working knowledge of an educational system
Working Environment:
Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. The paraprofessional must be willing to be flexible with work hours (including some evenings and weekends) and dress professionally for the variety of work environments that they will encounter. Typically work will be completed in a district building.
Physical Requirements: *Occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds *Frequent lifting of up to 40 pounds *Physical activities included: stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, climbing ladders, manual dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, repetitive motions
