Job Summary: Teacher answers to the Building Principal and adheres to the teacher's job description.
Qualifications: Type 03 Certificate with a Bilingual/ESL endorsement/approval; or Type 03 and a Type 29 Certificate or passed the language proficiency test in Spanish and has applied for a Type 29 Certificate and is enrolled in or will enroll in graduate courses required to obtain a bilingual/ESL endorsement. Proficiency in oral and written Spanish required. Must be NCLB highly qualified. Desire to work with primary children. Must be flexible and willing to work with children who have a second language and are culturally diverse. Knowledge of developmental learning. Knowledge of literacy skills for children. Strong classroom management skills. Candidate must be organized, have a positive attitude. Able to work with administrators, staff and parents to foster an efficient school operation.
Working Conditions: Regular school days (180 days a year)
Salary: Starting, $37,842, commensurate with salary schedule and experience. Competitive benefits package.
