QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires command of the English language.
Also requires knowledge of pertinent
academic areas and learning situations, as well as general needs
and behaviors of adult students.
Must possess the ability to understand academic and vocational
needs of adult students and to effectively relate to these needs
in a learning situation; learn the requirements of adults in
specific learning programs to which assigned; analyze situations
accurately and adopt an effective course of action; supervise
adults in a variety of situations; establish and maintain
accurate classroom records and files; operate standard office
equipment including computer keyboarding, copy machines, tape
recorders and projectors; maintain calm and patience in stressful
situations; understand and carry out oral and written
instructions; establish and maintain cooperative work
relationships with those contacted in the performance of required
duties.
Clerical experience
and work history involving the supervision of adult students
in a vocational setting is desirable.
Completion of the twelfth grade is
required, preferably supplemented by college level
courses.

AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

DUTIES OF POSITION:
Assist a certificated teacher in the instruction, supervision,
and training of adult students by providing a variety of
instructional support, student care activities, and related
duties in the maintenance of an effective learning environment.
Under supervision, an employee in this
classification provides a variety of responsible instructional
support activities to enhance the educational environment with
the district and requires a high degree of positive contact with
students, other certificated staff, and Lerdo facility
personnel.
STARTING SALARY:
$1,461.97 (monthly)
NUMBER OF MONTHS:
9.4 (to begin on 8/20/12)
NUMBER OF HOURS:
6 (daily working hours 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.)
