QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's Degree from an accredited university in Management or a directly related field
  • Eight years of directly related experience; principal experience preferred
  • Knowledge of the educational process gained through extensive number of years of directly related experience
  • Management abilities through management of major segments of an educational institution
  • Outstanding academic leadership and organizational skills

BASIC FUNCTIONS

  • Direct the planning and execution of instructional activities including, Response to Intervention (RtI) and online professional development tools.
  • Direct the scheduling of training sessions on the uses of assessment data to inform instruction within the data coaching framework and in particular assist in the implementation of the tools incorporated My Portal in conjunction with the use of data
  • Develop a districtwide action plan and timeline to implement RtI
  • Interface with all appropriate departments to ensure appropriate coordination of the districtwide RtI and student support teams
  • Direct the collection and reporting of data related to RtI implementation contained in the EXCEED software management tool
  • Prepare contracts to work with selected educational entities
  • Keep abreast of technical, legislative, and professional developments affecting curriculum, instruction, and assessment and disseminate this information to appropriate personnel
  • Keep abreast of professional trends and developments related to curriculum, instruction, assessment and accountability and use knowledge to update presentation materials
  • Collaborate with School Leadership and Administrative Services Division to ensure all instructional services are communicated to school administrators in a timely manner
  • Organize, schedule and conduct staff development training sessions as required
  • Direct and participate in the preparation of the departmental budgets
  • Administer the policies of the Board and assist in the revision of policy when appropriate
  • Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned
