School Improvement and MulTI-TiERED SYSTEM OF
SUPPORT (mtss) cOORDINATOR
The SI/MTSS Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day
operations of the CCRESA Educational Services Department
including:
o
Supervision of the support staff
o
Coordination of
budget
o
Administration of
Professional Development
Programs
o
Collection and Interpretation of school
improvement data
o
Participation on local, regional and state
advisory committees
o
Multi-tiered System of Support coordination
This position works closely with the Associate Superintendent
and General Education staff at Shiawassee RESD.
The SI/MTSS Coordinator works with
the Countywide Curriculum and Instruction Leadership Council
and local district administrators to plan and deliver
services. The SI/MTSS Coordinator will also be
responsible for special projects and programs as assigned. The
SI/MTSS Coordinator reports to the Associate Superintendent for
Educational Services.
Primary Duties and
Responsibilities
1)
Supervision of Support Staff
a)
Supervise one full-time, two part-time support
staff (schedules and attendance)
b)
Conduct annual performance reviews and
provides regular feedback to staff on performance
c)
Conduct staff meetings as necessary
2)
Budget Coordination
a)
Coordinates Educational Services program
budget with monies received through grant and non-grant
sources
b)
Files necessary financial reports for various
programs: CCRESA Consolidated Application; Title II, Part D -
Round II; REAP, etc.
c)
Monitors and approves expenditures in
consultation with other staff
3)
Administer Professional Development
Programs
a)
Collaborate with Shiawassee RESD, members of
the Mid-Michigan Consortium, COMMIT and other educational
agencies to provide professional development programs for area
educators
b)
Provide customized professional development
programs for local schools and districts with the assistance of
CASM and Shiawassee staff
c)
Assistant Chair of Countywide Curriculum and
Instruction Leadership Council
d)
Participates in Local Service Planning (LSP)
with Shiawassee RESD staff
e)
Provides information to partners in Title III
- Mid-Michigan Migrant Consortium, Safe and Drug-Free Schools
Consortium
f)
Coordinate New Teachers and Mentor
Teacher Academy when appropriate
g)
Coordinate RTI activities in both Clinton
county with the direction and support of Special and General Ed.
leadership.
4)
Data Collection and Interpretation
a)
Work with staff to provide essential data for
school improvement (MI Tracker, MEAP, DIBELS, MLPP, Survey
Data)
b)
Assist local districts with data
disaggregation, interpretation
c)
Ability to assume leadership and coordination
around data management systems (e.g. as a PBIS Assessment
Coordinator, SWIS Facilitator, DIBELS Mentor, AIMSweb LAM)
5)
Participate on local, regional and state
advisory committees
a)
Literacy Coordinator for CCRESA - shares
meeting attendance on Ingham Regional Literacy Training Grant
with Shiawassee staff
b)
Member of Mid-Michigan Consortium (M2),
COMMIT,
School Improvement Facilitators
Network (SIFN)
c)
Statewide Balanced Secondary Assessment
Committee

Collaborates with Michigan Social

Attends Shiawassee staff meetings as

Attends CCRESA Superintendent's meetings, Board
meetings and Administrative Team meetings as directed
6)
Multi-tiered System of Support Coordination
a)
Establish and maintain a feedback loop between the
CCRESA and District Implementation teams to share areas of
success, address implementation barriers, and ensure ongoing
fidelity of implementation across the CCRESA and districts
b)
Ensures the capacity exists at CCRESA and district
implementation teams to generate and interpret the necessary data
for on-going problem solving and action planning
c)
Coordinate and schedule regional trainings for
MTSS/RtI content
d)
Collaborate with CCRESA and district
implementation planning teams and MiBLSi project staff in the
development of CCRESA and local district training capacity to
support the implementation of MTSS/RtI practices
e)
Provide ongoing technical assistance to support
the cadre of trainers including modeling and preparation for
delivery of training content, providing feedback on training,
ensure consistency and fidelity of content delivery and ongoing
professional development of the trainers including preparing
coaches for their roles and responsibilities during trainings and
ongoing professional development of the coaches related to the
RtI/MTSS practices, systems and data
f)
Provide technical assistance to the building
leadership teams to support fidelity of implementation through
the use of data-based decision making within a problem-solving
model by being present at training to provide feedback loops
between building leadership teams and the district and CCRESA
implementation teams that acknowledge celebrations and address
potential barriers to implementation.

Following certificates
may be required

Teaching
Graduation
from a college or university of recognized standing with a
minimum
Bachelor's Degree, prefer Master's degree.
Minimum of
three to ten years experience in the specific or related
field
