QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
  2. Have demonstrated knowledge of accounting operations in a medium or large organization,preferably with a Federal/State/local governmental unit.
  3. Have demonstrated ability to prepare and interpret financial data.
  4. Have demonstrated experience with personal computers, including spreadsheet and word-processing software.
  5. Have ability to manage several tasks/projects at the same time.
  6. Knowledge of grant accounting preferred.
  7. Satisfactory performance on accounting/bookkeeping test

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:  (included but not limited to) 

  1. Assists in the preparation or, adjustments to, and monitoring of department/program/grant budgets.
  2. Completes assigned reports to various requesting departments/agencies.
  3. Performs financial analysis to identify and correct problems, as assigned.
  4. Assists with various tasks in preparation for the annual external audit.
  5. Assists buildings/departments in understanding financial data and procedures.
  6. Assists with monitoring of staffing levels in relationship to various budgets, as assigned.
  7. Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
