1. Successful candidate must posess strong inter-personal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse

     students and their families to insure that each child reaches his/her full potential.

2.  Has a thorough knowledge of all the athletic policies approved by the Davenport Board of Education.

3.  Has a thorough knowledge of the game of Football.

4.  Promotes the entire athletic program and adhere to philosophies and policies of West High School.

5.  Must work to form positive professional relationships with players, coaches, parents, and building staff.

6.  Must be willing to coach at one level and assist at other levels including scouting and supervision of study tables. 

7.  Must be willing to attend camps and clinics and expand knowledge in all aspects of coaching football.

8.  Maintains records of player interest and goals and turns in information, in a timely manner.

9.  Must be willing to assist and supervise off season workouts, clinics, leagues, and open fields.

10.  Assists in the coordination and is actively involved in our k-12 develomental feeder programs.

11.  Monitors, coordinate, and enforce district academic standards and policies.

12. Coordinates use and care of equipment and facilities as well as assist/organize transportation. 

13. Maintains and reports the season records and statistics before, during and throughtout the season.

14. Coordinates and maintains a strong unified BFS / Weight Training Program; coordinated with all other athletic teams.

15. Must be an active participant in our building Speed and Agility and Bulgarian workouts.

16. Understands the proper administrative line of command and refers all requests and grievances through proper channels.  Is aware

       of all public / staff / departmental meetings that require attendance.

17.  Maintains / emphasizes discipline and demands disciplined behavior from ALL that are involved in the program. Provides and

       organizes adequate supervision before, during and after practices/games for all students.

18. Must be willing to perform additional duties as requested by Head Coach and West Administration.

 

Current Iowa Coaching Certification Required.

Previous football coaching experience or collegiate playing experience preferred.

Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the Bigger, Faster, Stronger strength and conditioning program.

Teach or work at West High School Preferred.

Such alternatives to the above qualfications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

Must be able to lift, pull, push and carry up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time.
