Primary Purpose:
Work under general supervision to assist students
and teachers in use of computers and educational software in campus computer
lab.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Texas instructional aide certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of basic computer operations and skills
Ability to operate personal computer and educational
software
Ability to work with students and teachers
effectively
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience:
One year experience working with children
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Support
1.
Assist teachers and students in use of computers,
printers, mimios, document cameras, projectors and instructional software.
2.
Work cooperatively with teachers to identify student
placement in instructional software.
3.
Input data and maintain physical and computerized files
on student progress and use of instructional programs.
4.
Maintain computer lab in a neat and orderly manner
including bulletin boards and displays.
Technical Support
5.
Install a variety of computer programs following
complex written instructions.
6.
Identify and troubleshoot basic computer hardware and
software issues.
7.
Arrange for maintenance and repair of computer
equipment as needed.
Student Management
8.
Manage student behavior in the computer lab.
9.
Help supervise students during arrival and dismissal from
school.
Customer Care Skills
10.
Provide professional communication with students,
parents, community members, staff, and other professionals at all times.
11.
Use proper phone etiquette at all times, speaking
slowly and clearly. Take reliable
messages, and route to the appropriate staff.
12.
Ensure superior customer care skills are used via eye
contact, facial expressions, voice inflections, body language, and an
attitude of “going the extra mile” for
others.
13.
Ensure all requests for information are dealt with in
an appropriate timeframe.
14.
Create and maintain a welcoming, service-oriented
environment toward all internal and external customers.

15.
Perform campus-wide inventory of classroom technology
as needed.
16.
Assist with office and workroom clerical duties as needed.
17.
Maintain confidentiality.
18.
Participate in staff development, faculty meetings, and
special events as needed.
