POSITION: SCHOOL SECRETARY Position Guide: Non – Certified Personnel F/T - 10 Months 8 hours $13.98 hour Bargaining Unit Position Function: To contribute to the efficient operation of the school office. School office functions include communications, maintenance performance and school staff time/attendance records. Provides general secretarial/clerical support and is expected to conform to the highest. Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent Capable of typing and performing other office tasks Typing - 50 WPM Computer Experience Must Must pass District Technology Test Responsibilities: Act as school receptionist; work independently in meeting the public; give information and answer complaints relating to the school; refer caller to proper person, or if necessary, arrange for an appointment with the principal; receive children, answer routine questions, and may render first aid as needed. Maintain school administrative and student records, such as, but not limited to: Service Sheets Substitute Reports Monthly Principal’s Report Cumulative Reports Classification Sheets Principal’s Quarterly Report Annual Report Accident Report Communicable Disease Report Receive monies from various sources such as school lunch and other school programs; deposit monies with business office; maintain bookkeeping records of all financial accounts of the school. From rough draft, or instructions, type forms, letters, receipts, attendance reports, requisitions, and other materials; cut stencils; compose routine letters, operate copier and scanner. Operate standard office machines necessary to complete clerical assignments in a businesslike manner. Perform secretarial and clerical duties of a responsible nature. Ability to maintain complex clerical records and compile reports from such records. Carry out instructions and develop comprehensive plans with a minimum of supervision. Maintain budget records and prepare purchase orders and memo charges as needed. Make minor decisions in accordance with established policies and regulations. Recognize that some materials for which she is responsible is confidential and should be kept so. Maintain administrative and student records. Establish and maintain effective working relations with all employees as well as the general public. Meet the public with a pleasant, composed and cordial manner, tactfully and courteously and to speak clearly and effectively. Assist other office members as needed. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the School Principal or his / her designee.
