POSITION:               Coordinator of Instructional Technology
 
POSITION GUIDE:      Certified Personnel 
                                12 Month 
                                Non-Bargaining Unit Position
 
FUNCTION:         In a staff capacity, develop and monitor the integration of technology throughout every instructional area.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:           
Master’s Degree in Administration or Instructional Technology
Type 75 Certification
Minimum of Five (5) Years Teaching Experience in K-8 schools
Demonstrated skills in leadership, administrative, and human relations
Experience in the use of state-of-the-art instructional technology
Proven success integrating technology and curriculum
Knowledge of and experience with utilization of new technologies for instructional delivery and curriculum integration
Expertise in using educational software, multimedia, telecommunications
Knowledgeable of best practices in classroom technology integration
Knowledgeable of Common Core Curricula
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:          
Develop and implement a procedure for the vetting of instructional software. 
Work closely with Curriculum Coordinators, Cabinet Members, Directors, and Principals to determine software needs in each area.
Work closely with the Technology Department personnel to determine the technical needs, installation, and use of software on District systems.
Develop and implement processes for ongoing evaluation of instructional software for effectiveness, viability, and cost.
Oversee and evaluate the Technology Integration Specialists.
Work with Teachers and Resource Specialists as needed.
Serve as the technology expert regarding Common Core Curricula.
Organize, coordinate, and manage all software licenses owned, leased, or subscribed to by the District.
Structure programming for and oversee the Community Computer Centers.
Serve as the technology liaison for all summer program technology needs.
Determine long-term plans for the upgrading, obsolescence, or replacement of instructional software.
Work with vendors to resolve software issues as they occur.
Align the Technology Scope and Sequence with the Common Core Curricula.
Develop an ongoing program of Professional Development in the area of instructional technology.
Coordinate and manage all aspects of online assessment.
Assist with any other duties as assigned by Director of Technology or Designee.
