POSITION:

Part-Time School Social Worker (.20 FTE)

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Completes individual assessments and recommendations for students referred for evaluations for Special Education eligibility. Participates in meetings such as MET's, IEPT's, staffing, etc. Works with Positive Behavior Supports and Multi-Tiered Support Systems in local districts to assure early intervention for students. Assists in collecting data to develop Functional Behavior Assessments and Positive Behavior Intervention Plans. Involved in crisis intervention, parent and staff training, staffing evaluations, student support systems, accessing community agency resources, direct services, consultation services, and providing short-term intervention to students and/or families.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education:   The job requires completion of a Master of Social Work (MSW), including credits earned through completion of Education classes as required by State of Michigan Licensing.

 

Experience :   Experience in school setting desirable.

 

Certification or Licensure: School or Social Work approval through the State of Michigan, Department of Education, and Licensed with the State of Michigan Board of Examiners.

SALARY RANGE:

Salary is based on level of education and verified experience. Salary, work schedule, and fringes are in accord with the teacher bargaining unit master agreement (ECEA Union Position).
