General Information:
A college access advisor provides assistance
to make sure students, especially minority, low-income, and
first-generation, are motivated to pursue and succeed in
education beyond high school. College, as used in "college
access", is any accredited educational institution beyond the
high school level, including apprenticeship, certificate,
associate, and bachelor degree programs. A college
access advisor serves as an in-school resource to students
and parents. A college access advisor supports,
supplements, and works closely with a school's guidance
staff.
