Instructional Facilitator-THIS POSITION IS HALF TIME.
Nature and Scope of Job:
The role of the coach is to be a
resource to classroom teachers for the improvement of student learning. This position will work with classroom
teachers to provide quality instruction and interventions consistent with
Wyoming State Standards, Sweetwater School District #1 curriculum maps,
initiatives and best practice in
instruction.
Job Functions:
Essential
Functions:
1. Helping
to design and implement professional development.
2. Supporting
teachers through a classroom coaching model
3. Providing
demonstration lessons and modeling of best practice instruction/strategies.
4. Assisting
in the assessment of effectiveness of professional development.
5. Working
closely with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction in the development,
implementation and assessment of professional development.
6. Facilitate
groups consistent with norms of collaboration.
7. Assist
classroom teachers in implementing differentiated instruction.
8. Assist
classroom teachers in using data for instructional decision making.
9. Disseminate
current instructional research/methods
10. Serve
as liaison between instructional and administrative groups.
11. Prepare
feedback for administrators, teachers and perhaps students documenting changes
in student achievement.
12. Help
create action plans for schools/district.
13. Remain
current in research, best practice in literacy instruction.
14. Assist classroom teachers in
integrating technology into the classroom.

Job Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Mental Ability:
Must possess strong leadership skills.
Must
be able to work with adult learners.
Must
possess broad knowledge of pedagogy and learning theory with expertise in
area(s) of certification.
Must
possess knowledge of group dynamics and interpersonal skills.
Must
possess knowledge of psychological, emotional, educational, and behavioral
development of children.
Must
possess technological and computer skills.
Must
possess problem solving, flexibility, imagination, patience, reasoning,
creativity, judgment, and analytical abilities.
Must
be an effective trainer.
Must
have at least five years of successful teaching experience.
Education, License, Certification or Formal
Training:
Proper
certification issued by the Wyoming Department of Education.
Master’s
Degree or National Board Certification.
Physical Demands:
Strength
and stamina to be able to remain in a seated position for up to 90 minutes at a
time throughout the work day with a minimum of fatigue or discomfort.
Visual
acuity and stamina to work at a computer for at least part of each day with a
minimum of fatigue or discomfort.
Strength
and stamina to be able to remain in a standing position for up to 90 minutes at
a time
throughout
the work day with a minimum of fatigue or discomfort.
Strength
to lift objects that weigh at least 50 pounds and move them more than 50 feet.
Environmental Demands:
Be
able to spend most of the time inside classrooms with some work outside in
hot/cold weather.
Be
able to tolerate noise up to 90 decibels.
Be
able to work after dark.
