Description: This paraprofessional position will assist both general education and special education staff with instruction of students with mild to moderate academic and behavior concerns. This job is a half time position working 3.5 hours per day.Job Summary: Assist with the instruction of students in core academic subjects, help with behavior management and crisis intervention, develop positive relationships with students, and assist students in the general education environment. The position requires some lifting of 50 pounds or less, may required some outside supervision of students, and toileting of students may be necessary.Qualifications: 60 college semester credits and/or high school graduate who has passed or has the ability to pass the Para Pro examinationWorking Conditions: Work in a highly structured classroom with students in a K-3 elementary building. Selection Procedure: The person chosen for this position will ideally have experience working with students with challenging behavior and academic problems. Those with experience with students on the autism spectrum will be given extra consideration.
