Description: This position will provide for the health care needs of individual students requiring frequent care throughout the school day in order to attend school. The health care needs will be of a nature or frequency that is determined to be beyond the capacity of the health office
Job Summary:
-Performs episodic and first aid care, emergency response, medication administration, and other delegated procedures as indicated by the student's individualized healthcare plan.
-Update supervised RN of any changes in nursing procedures and medication administration that physician may have changed. Meet student at student's home and ride the bus to and from school with student when required by the student's IEP and IHP (Individualized Health Plan).
Qualifications: Must be an LPN currently licensed in the State of MN.
-Maintain daily records of student health status and care given.
-Communicate as needed with supervised RN at school, home and physicians to meet the student health needs.
-Participate in staff/parent meetings regarding student needs.
-Provide student care in a manner that respects student privacy and dignity as well as minimizes interruptions to classroom instruction. Follow HIPAA laws.
Skills:
-Ability to communicate and foster positive working relationships with students, parents and staff.
-Current with CPR certification
-Computer skills
-Ability to maintain regular attendance at work
Job Type: Student contact days (7.5-8 hours per day)
