Description: Instructional Assistant
Job Summary: Will participate in implementing daily lessons and IEP goals/objectives. Position may require assistance with positioning, feeding, toileting, lifting, transferring, health needs, behavior management (including physical restraint), working with assistive technology, and equipment management. This position requires working collaboratively with a team to assist and supervise students on academic and non-academic tasks. Position will involve working with students with various disabilities including moderate to severe mental retardation, physical and health impairments, and autism.
Qualifications: Paraprofessional letter of approval from ISBE (30 college credits or successful completion of ETS Parapro Assessment or ACT WorkKeys assessment). Experience working with students with Autism preferred.
Working Conditions: classrooms in district general education buildings
