POSITION: INTERVENTION EDUCATION ASSISTANT (TITLE I)
LOCATION: CASTLE ELEMENTARY
SCHEDULE: 5 hours per day, 5 days per week
STARTING DATE: September 4, 2012 with staff development opportunities during the week of August 27th.
WORK YEAR: 2012-13 school year
SALARY: PER EDUCATION ASSISTANT MASTER AGREEMENT (External candidates will receive $12.81 per hour. Internal candidates will be paid in accordance with their current step placement.)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Two-year degree or equivalent
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Ability to work with K-5 readers and math students
2. Excellent use of oral and written grammar
3. Ability to keep information obtained about students confidential
4. Good organizational skills
5. Flexible, patient, creative, focused
6. Good at multi tasking
7. Ability to work with elementary school students
RESPONSIBILIES INCLUDE:
This position entails working with small groups of students, one-on-one or sometimes 'pushing' into a classroom working alongside the classroom teacher; other times pulling students out to work on specific skills. Also includes assessing students and occasionally attending Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings. This position will be supervised by the Instructional Coach.
