TITLE: Assistant Principal
REPORTS TO: Building
WORK DAYS: 220 days
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the principal in developing and implementing instructional
strategies to achieve the curriculum goals of the school district.
Assist with the development and implementation of the school
improvement plan for the school.
• Prepare a master schedule for
the implementation of an educational program that makes optimum use of
facilities and staff.
• Participate in the planning, development,
implementation, and evaluation of instructional programs and materials.
Assist with the supervision and evaluation of faculty and support
• Maintain effective communications with and serve as
liaison to parents, civic and community groups.
• Assist with the
preparation of reports and surveys to assess the effectiveness of
programs at the school.
Coordinate the evaluation and selection of basic and supplemental
texts, multimedia, and other instructional or reference materials to
implement the instructional program.
• Respond to parents,
students, and staff concerns in a sensitive, and timely manner.
Serve as the case manager for special education programs within the
school when appropriate.
• Coordinate all aspects of the student
testing programs at the school.
• Develop a positive school
climate by developing a implements an effective student discipline
• Plan and organize school activities and events.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS
• Master’s Degree in administration or curriculum
and instruction or related field.
• Must hold an Illinois Type 75
General Administration Certificate.
• Assume the duties of the
principal in his absence.
• Minimum of two years of successful
teaching experience required, preferable in School District 15.
Must possess good organizational skills and be able to communicate
effectively with students, parents, and staff.
• Proven experience
as an effective team member who is able to work collaboratively with
