Job Group D $13.98 per hour
TWO positons are being posted for the 2012-2013 school year. Both are temp. One is 4 hours and one is 5 hours.
Two to four years of responsible experience in project coordination, volunteer coordination, social work, non-profit work, or dental/medical services. Ability to deal effectively with parents, students, school staff, school nurses, dental professionals, volunteers, and community contacts. Ability to work without direct supervision. Ability to coordinate and schedule dental services for children and families following program guidelines. Knowledge of and ability to use technology to create documents, spreadsheets, records, and reports. Demonstrated ability and experience to plan and schedule events including coordination of logistics and communication with stakeholders. Ability to gather and use data and information for grant writing. Ability to maintain confidentiality of student and client records following district, state, and federal regulations. Demonstrated accurate, orderly, and timely record keeping and retention. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
Plan and schedule dental screenings, dental hygiene education, dental van events, Give Kids a Smile Day, Tooth Taxi events, and other acute dental care for children in need. Recruit dental professionals, partners, dental program students, volunteers, and partners to support the program. Write grants to fund and sustain program needs, prepare and file grant reports as required, and track grant expenditures and services provided to students. Prepare news releases and reports that publicize the program’s services and successes. Order dental supplies and maintain inventory. Partner with district health care efforts, including the health center at Milwaukie High School. Monitor and assess program need, recommend program adjustments and implement changes. Prepare, collect, track, and maintain requests and authorization for services and other forms to meet program/grant needs according to district, state, and federal regulations. Create and support a public web page with program information following district parameters. Monitor dental health program budget and assist with budget development. Coordinate dental support for students with school nurses. Encourage Oregon Health Plan registration and other opportunities for uninsured children.
