Description:
Assists in planning and directly supervises the work of mechanics/helpers and related personnel in the repair and maintenance of school facilities and grounds
Job Summary:

Leads and instructs mechanics/helpers in the repair process to insure that proper standards of repair work are maintained

Assists in coordination of distribution of parts and supplies as required
-
Assists mechanics with diagnostic and repair problems

Supervises and leads subordinate employees as assigned

Performs duties ordinarily assigned to mechanic helper or mechanics as needed

Performs related work as required by Foreman

Perform duties of Foreman in his absence or assists at his request

Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
Education:
-
High school diploma or GED required; technical school training preferred
Certification/Licensure:
-
Valid Georgia Driver’s License; Eligible to acquire CDL; Must be insurable by Fulton County School’s insurance carriers
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years as a skilled trade’s mechanic
Qualifications:
-
Must have computer skills required to perform work order task
-
Must be able to successfully manage multiple tasks, projects, and responsibilities
-
Ability to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various issues
-
Must be able to collaborate effectively with district and school personnel, the general public, and work with diverse groups of people
-
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
-
Regular exposure to moving machinery and or vehicles
-
Regular exposure to weather including heat, cold, dampness, and or humidity
-
Must be able to work from tall ladders, lifts and bucket trucks
-
Typically requires climbing ladders, pushing and/or pulling
-
Mat require stooping, crawling, and bending
-
Ability to lift 50 pounds and carry for short distances

Salary Range
Step placement credit may be granted for up to a maximum of 7 years (Step 8) of prior verifiable experience. Salary placement with Fulton County Schools is non-negotiable. Actual salary placement will be based on Fulton County Board of Education experience calculations from the Non-Teaching Salary Schedule A-235, Professional Scale, Step 1 - Step 8
