QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires knowledge of basic functions and types
of clerical operations performed at a large public school,
proper office methods and practices, command of the English
language, basic supervisory principles and practices along with
word processing techniques.
Must possess the skill to understand and apply a variety of
complex directions to specific situations; supervise and
coordinate the work of others; train staff in a variety of
technical and procedural matters; communicate effectively in oral
and written forms; establish and maintain a variety of record
keeping, reference, and data collection systems; analyze
situations and take appropriate action without immediate
supervision; prioritize and coordinate the work flow and its
timeliness; operate a variety of office equipment; establish and
maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the
performance of duties.
Must be able to type
accurately at a rate of 60 net wpm.
May require the skill to take dictation at 80 words per minute
and transcribe it accurately.
Three years of
increasingly responsible clerical and stenographic experience
is required, preferably including at least one year in a school
district.
A RECENT TYPING
CERTIFICATE MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH APPLICATION IN ORDER TO BE
CONSIDERED.
A CRIMINAL HISTORY
CHECK WILL BE REQUIRED OF THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE PRIOR TO
EMPLOYMENT.
DUTIES OF
POSITION:
Under supervision, assist the principal or director in the
administration of the school site by performing a variety of
responsible complex secretarial and administrative support
functions.
Supervises and coordinates the workflow and activities
processed through the school's central office.
Requires in depth knowledge of school site operations,
administrative procedures as well as a high level of
secretarial skills.
STARTING SALARY:
$3,145.00 (monthly)
