QUALIFICATION
- Accredited Senior High School Diploma or valid (U.S.A.
equivalency)
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in a plant operations
or industrial environment
- Must have or be able to obtain an Asbestos worker
license and/or mold certification certificate within six (6)
months of employment
- Must maintain certification by the state (TDSHS) to perform
asbestos abatement work
- Must maintain registration by the state (TDSHS) to perform
mold remediation work
- Must maintain licensed by the EPA to perform lead abatement
work
- Must follow safety guidelines
and wear personal protective
equipment, including a respirator and tyvek suit
- Must be clean shaven daily for proper respirator fit
- Must pass required annual physical exam
- Must be able to able to lift or exert force of up to
100lbs
- Must be able to safely tolerate the elements as required
for the craft. Be able to work off Scaffolding and a minimum of
40 foot ladder
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel,
crouch, and or crawl; climb; balance, and drive
- Must hold a valid Texas Driver License and driving record
that meet Dallas ISD standards
- Must pass Dallas ISD random drug test
- Ability to communicate in English by speaking, reading, and
writing
- Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus
BASIC FUNCTIONS
- Remove and dispose of all regulated materials at District
facilities as required by local, state, and federal regulatory
agencies including, but not limited to mold, asbestos, lead,
paint waste, fluorescent light bulbs)
- Responds to all Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) concerns and
issues as it relates to odors, spills, water damage and
infiltration, and various clean up and remediation efforts
- Responds to all emergency issues and concerns, works and
prioritizes assignments as provided by IAQ/Abatement direct
supervisor
- Respond to all requests for service regarding carpet steam
cleaning and water restoration projects
- Maintain and record documentation of disposal logs
- Maintain tools, equipment and assigned vehicles in good
condition and report any problems to the supervisor
- Perform tasks as required and/or assigned by wearing
personal protection equipment (i.e., respirator, tyvek suit,
boots, and etc)
- Perform minor repairs in the field to ensure equipment
works properly
- Follow district safety guidelines, using good safety
practices for operating hand/power tools
as required for various tasks,
including not limited to drills, saws, air blowers, and other
equipment as needed for job completion. Wear safety equipment
at all times
- Report observed maintenance related issues and problems to
supervisor for resolution
- Communicate effectively with principals, department heads,
district staff, contractors and vendors in a professional
manner in all phases necessary to locate, correct, repair
and

- Perform all other tasks and duties, as assigned
Minimum
$16.52/Hr Midpoint
$21.37/Hr
Maximum $27.55/Hr
Selected individuals for Dallas Independent School positions will
be placed according to current district promotional policy and
compensation guidelines. A campus-based employee may not assume a
new position for which he/she was selected based upon the posting
process until the end of the current semester, unless approved by
the Executive Director - Human Resources.
