Job Description: Director
The director is under the
supervision of the Superintendent of Lamar County Schools. The director has
decision-making authority limited and regulated by the rules and regulations
established by the grant and state law. Job description is the same as stated
in DOE: APA Rule 160-5-1-26 Job Descriptions for Certified Personnel as well as
those prescribed by our local board of education for administrators.
Hours: 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday –Friday during the school year/ 7:30 a.m.-
6:00 p.m. during intercessions and summer camp
Duties and Responsibilities
1.
Recruit students and qualified
personnel;
2.
Meet regularly with program
personnel;
3.
Schedule advisory board meetings;
4.
Provide training for staff;
5.
Recruit community volunteers;
6.
Assist staff in developing daily
schedules and activities;
7.
Meet with relevant program personnel
for review and long/short range planning;
8.
Order materials;
9.
Complete quarterly reports and
appropriate documents in a timely manner;
10.
Develop a safety handbook;
11.
Attend appropriate meetings and
workshops;
12.
Monitor sites/student files;
13.
Provide personnel needed for
appropriate supervision of children at all times;
14.
Follow programmatic procedure and
policy; and
15. Complete duties and responsibilities assigned.

objectives of the after school program;

meet the goals of the program;

plan for program effectiveness;

Follow
established guidelines for applications and all other required documents
necessary for program operation;
Qualifications…
·
At
least 4 years of teaching experience in a school-age after-school program or comparable group child care program; and
- Valid GA Teaching
certificate in education, administration, or retired educator.
- Completed a criminal background check.
