POSITION: Kindergarten Transitional Teacher
JOB GOAL: To provide students with the appropriate subject matter and/or skills
necessary to contribute to their development as mature, able and
responsible men and women.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a valid Illinois Teaching License with early childhood or elementary endorsement. Must also have a Bilingual endorsement or approval.

REPORTS TO: Principal
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ To plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students
§ To create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students
§ To guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in-harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects and the like to communicate these objectives to students
§ To employ instructional methods and materials that is most appropriate for meeting stated objectives
§ To assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required
§ To maintain all student file and electronic records and perform teacher required duties on the E-School student data management system
§ To assist the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules
§ To assist the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and for the classroom, develops reasonable rules for classroom behavior and procedure and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner
§ To plan and supervise purposeful assignments for teacher aide(s) and/or volunteer(s) and cooperatively with department heads, evaluates their job performance
§ To strive to maintain and improve professional competence
§ To attend staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required
§ To perform other duties as assigned
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year according to Master Agreement
