Please be informed of the availability of the following position in the Faribault Public Schools: Job Title: (2) SPECIAL EDUCATION PARAPROFESSIONALS – CANNON RIVER EDUCATIONAL CENTER Job Description: 2 Full time special education paraprofessionals to provide paraprofessional support to elementary and/or middle and high school age special education students at the Cannon River Education Center Focus Program, a level 4 special education program serving students with emotional and behavioral needs. This program serves Faribault and Northfield School Districts. This position will be for 6.5 hours per day, 5 days per week during the school year. This position commences August 27, 2012.
Qualifications: One of the following preferred: (1) Two year Associate of Arts degree; OR (2) The equivalent of 66 semester credits OR (3) A portfolio demonstrating MN Core Competencies for Paraprofessionals OR (4) A passing score on the MN Para Pro Test. High School Diploma required. Knowledge of or willingness to be trained on needs of students with emotional and behavioral disorders. Knowledge or willingness to be training in positive behavior intervention supports and Crisis Prevention Intervention; ability to collect and report data on student progress; follow-through on directions from licensed staff; good communication/organization skills, and attendance at behavior management training required when it’s offered in the district.
