Please be informed of the availability of the following position in the Faribault Public Schools: Job Title: (2) SPECIAL EDUCATION PARAPROFESSIONAL POSITIONS AT FARIBAULT MIDDLE SCHOOL Job Description: (2) Special Education Paraprofessional positions for 6.5 hours per day to provide support and supervision to special needs students. This position will be working primarily with students who are identified in the Developmental Cognitive Delay – Mild to Moderate disability area. This position commences August 27, 2012.
Qualifications: One of the following preferred: (1) Two year Associate of Arts degree; OR (2) The equivalent of 60 semester credits OR (3) A portfolio demonstrating MN Core Competencies for Paraprofessionals OR (4) A passing score on the MN Para Pro Test. High School Diploma required. Experience working with students with special needs. Ability and willingness to take direction from the case manager. Trained or willingness to be trained in strategies such as Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), visual schedules, social stories, and positive behavior supports. Ability to implement the strategies identified above. Ability to collect and report data as directed by the case manager. Trained or willing to be trained in certain medical procedures.
