Description: The Middle School Assistant Principal assists the Principal as one of the instructional leaders of the school regarding curriculum, instruction, student discipline, community/parental relations, and staff supervision. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
. Evaluating staff performance which includes providing staff with accurate feedback following the district's teacher evaluation plan.
. Supervising, leading, and supporting six core academic teams of students and teachers.
. Preparing student and teacher schedules.
. Assisting in the maintenance of student discipline.
. Maintaining open communication with all members of the school community.
. Monitoring of student attendance and making appropriate referrals.
Certification Type: Illinois Type 75, General Supervisory, General Administration
Qualifications: Master's Degree, Certified teacher with middle school experience - minimum of 5 years preferred
Experience in implementing Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies (PBIS), previous administrative and or teacher leadership experience preferred.
Work Week: Monday through Friday
Work Year: 200 days
Work Hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (plus supervision responsibilities at periodic evening events)
Salary: Commensurate with experience and education
