Essential
Functions:
1.
Collaborate with school staff to
offer interpreting services to parents of ESL students
on a regular basis.
2.
Provide interpreting services to new
families during registration and parent teacher
conferences.
3.
Provide and/or arrange interpreting
services to ESL families across district (including
non-Spanish speaking families) on an as needed basis
during the day and at some evening events as
necessary.
4.
Assist in keeping accurate ESL files
and records of ESL students.
5.
Become a certified ACCESS Test
Administrator and assist other schools with test
administration during testing window as needed.
6.
Assist with the entering and
maintenance of state test accommodations and serve as
an interpreter for ESL students during testing.
7.
Assist with scheduling of other
interpreters during parent/teacher conferences,
testing, and IEP meetings.
8.
Maintain two-way communications with
parents, administrators, teachers and counselors on
student progress as per district-developed
practices.
9.
Provide district wide interpreting
services during IEP team meetings and parent/teacher
conferences.
10.
Attend appropriate district staff
development and approved state professional conferences
to stay abreast of current issues.
11.
Collaborate with classroom teachers
of ESL students on a regular basis in order to tutor
and co-teach ESL students in the regular
classroom.
12.
Provide services to identify ESL
students in an inclusion model.
13.
Adapt instructional materials as
necessary to meet the needs of ESL students.
14.
Other duties as assigned.
