Job Summary:
Teaching effective elementary music instruction, including recorders based upon sound, well-researched principles of teaching and learning; creative development of lessons, presentation of materials and motivation of students
Qualifications:
Proper Connecticut teaching certification (049); evidence of strong preparation in music; knowledge of vocal techniques, pedagogy and Kodaly methodology; keyboard proficiency; ability to work cooperatively with grade level teams; knowledge and understanding of the needs of elementary children; ability to modify the curriculum to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
Terms of Employment:
This is a .8 position. Salary based on the negotiated agreement between the Berlin Board of Education and the Berlin Education Association (BA, Step 2 @ $42,240 to Ph.D. Max @ $87,363)
