I. GENERAL
DESCRIPTION
With direct supervision the incumbent will support building
Administrators as the Local Area Network Analyst and will be the
primary field point of contact on all microcomputer support
issues. The analyst will assist microcomputer end users
with basic installation, upgrade and usage of microcomputer
hardware and software applications on IBM/compatible and
Macintosh microcomputers. Analysts are assigned to either a
dedicated high school or on a rotational basis to four to six
elementary and/or middle school buildings.
II. ANALYST I
DUTIES
A. Hardware
·
Ensure that defective, warranty and repairable inventory items
are processed for replacement or disposition.
·
Maintain respective repair and inventory areas.
·
Replace workstation components.
·
Troubleshoot network connection and printing related
problems.
·
Upgrade firmware.
·
Relocate equipment per CHAIR procedure
·
Research to analyze problems, identify alternatives, and
recommend solutions.
B. Software
·
Installation of operating system, upgrades, and hot fixes.
·
Application support, installations, upgrades, and
troubleshooting.
·
Customer assistance with installed software and its usage.
·
Process software installation requests based on
authorization.
·
Compliance with all software license agreements.
·
Image and re-image of workstations.
·
File archive and restoration.
·
Support of Web browser.
·
Installation of network protocol, removal and
troubleshooting.
·
Research to analyze problems, identify alternatives, and
recommend solutions.
C. Work Order
Management
·
Functional knowledge of HEAT work order database.
·
Journalize open work orders at a minimum of once per month.
·
Review work orders and acknowledge within one business day of
assignment
·
Journalize priorities I and II work orders daily.
·
Transfer work order(s) when additional assistance or next level
of support is required.
·
Create work order(s) for work performed and completed on an
ad-hoc basis.
D. Coordination
·
Meet with building Technology Coordinator when in building.
·
Sign in/out on visitor's log in building.
·
Utilize building report on a daily basis.
·
Meet with principal once a month and publish minutes to Team
Lead.
·
Attend building staff meetings when requested.
·
Research, prepare and present a bi-weekly state of the building
report for all assigned buildings.
·
Report all deviations from the published building schedules to
Team Lead and affected building Technology Coordinator prior to
their occurrence.
E. Other duties as
assigned.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES-(HIGH SCHOOL-BASED)
A. Schedule and attend
a weekly meeting with Technology Coordinator.
B. Assist Network
Engineering with field server support.
C. Research, prepare
and present a bi-weekly state of the building report.
IV. TRAINING, SKILLS AND
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A.
Two (2) years of college/Technical School/Military Training or
two (2) years of related education and field work experience.
B.
Microsoft Certified Professional is desirable.
C.
Must demonstrate proficiency in the troubleshooting, installation
and configuration of Microsoft Operating Systems.
D.
Ability to complete component-level repair of microcomputer and
peripherals.
E.
Ability to work within a team that promotes learning and fosters
communication.
F.
Demonstrate good customer service skills while interfacing with
faculty, students, staff, and administrators.
G.
Must possess valid motor vehicle operator's license and be able
to provide own transportation to school worksites.
H.
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
