JOB PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
FUNCTION:
Incumbent is primarily responsible for assisting librarians, teachers, and students with media resources. Incumbent will perform work in accordance with established library, bookkeeping, and general office practices and procedures. Incumbent will provide guidance and consultation to students and staff daily in assisting them with library materials. Errors may result in misplaced material, damaged equipment, and unmet resource needs.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
This position requires incumbent to have the ability to apply basic knowledge of library practices, operate general office and specialized media equipment (e.g., computers, typewriters, televisions, projectors, video cassette recorders, copiers, microfiche readers). and the ability to learn new practices and procedures quickly.
Type accurately at 35 wpm.
Working knowledge of Library skills.
Filing skills by ALA rules.
Excellent alphabetizing and numerical order skills.
Accuracy in checking, posting, and counting.
Excellent communication skills.
Courteous and helpful attitude in working with others.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent with knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
EXPERIENCE: Over three (3) months up to and including twelve (12) months of related clerical experience.
DUTY DAYS: 218
SALARY: CT3 $11.457 - $14.322 /HR
Salary determination will be based on documented experience.
