LDR Teacher

I.

Responsibilities

·          Directly responsible to the building principal

·          Provide instructional services to middle school students

·          Communicate regularly with parents

·          Work cooperatively with other staff and PTO organization

II.

Qualifications

·          Possession of a proper Illinois Teaching Certificate: Type 03 or 10 endorsed and Highly Qualified for Middle School Learning Disabilities instruction; LBSI Unlimited a plus.

·          Willingness to work toward the betterment of all students.

·          Willing to work as a member of a learning team.

·          A willingness to devote the time necessary to contribute to the tradition of a highly efficient and effective teaching staff.

·          Knowledge of technology in learning is an asset.

III.

·          Salary will be commensurate with professional training and experience according to salary schedule.

·          The district has approximately 4,800 students.

·          McHenry Middle School educates approximately 715 in grades 6-8.

·          The district has a reputation for providing students a solid,          basic education, borne out by test scores.

The Community

·          Formerly a rural/resort community, growing rapidly to a suburban-type community of approximately 25,000.

·          Located on the Fox River at the foot of the Northern Illinois Chain of Lakes, 75 minutes from downtown Chicago, 60 minutes from Northern Illinois University.

·          Small amount of light industry and regular commuter train service to Chicago.
