  Qualifications:

MInnesota math/science teaching  licensure.  Also, qualified applicants will have good communication skills (written and oral); ability to supervise and work well with others; good organizational skills; and ability to manage time and responsibilities. Knowledge of adolescent development required. Must have a belief in the uniqueness and worth of every person; the demonstrated desire and ability to work with at-risk students; a commitment to the team approach; the capacity to use a variety of instructional strategies and to develop curriculum; the ability to solve problems and resolve conflicts/crises and to help others do the same; a willingness to utilize district expertise in designing evaluation criteria and instruments to assess student and program performance; a good understanding of the social, psychological/emotional processes of adolescents; assessment/diagnostic skills; knowledge of chemical dependency, abuse, family change, skill in working closely with staff and parents.
