Timesheet Bi-Lingual Health Tech

2012/13 Hourly rate determined by collective bargaining agreement.

This is a temporary position authorized for the current school year only and is not eligible for insurance benefits.

This is a full-time substitute position in multiple health offices throughout our district.  Duties include:

• Administers, in the absence of the nurse, emergency first aid (e.g. CPR, AED, asthma and/or low blood sugar epidsodes, injuries including head/neck, fractures, etc.) for the purpose of meeting immediate health care needs.
• Maintains work areas (e.g. sinks, counters, beds, blankets, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining area in accordance with established standards.
• Monitors students self-administering medications (under the direction of a health care professional) for the purpose of meeting the ongoing health care needs of students.
• Responds to inquiries from a variety of internal and external parties by phone, letter or in person (e.g. staff, parents, students, public agencies, etc.) for the purpose of providing information, facilitating communication and/or direction/referral as may be required.
• Supervises students within the health room for the purpose of monitoring students referred for illness and/or observation.
• Maintains records and uses district computerized student information system on a daily basis.

Qualifications:

• Fluent in Spanish
• CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
• Knowledge of universal precautions and infection control procedures
• Knowledge of health standards and reporting procedures
• Ability to work with a diverse group of students and staff memebers
• Basic computer skills, proficient in MicroSoft Word  

Terms of Employment:

• Ability to work at multiple locations within the Naperville CUSD203 School District
