- Two years of college with representative credentials in Data Management
- Minimum of two years experience in data management and analysis methods
- Demonstrated understanding of web server maintenance and troubleshooting
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate
and acceptable.
TERMS OF
EMPLOYMENT:
1. Work Year: twelve month work year.
2. Salary: Salary and fringe benefits to be established by the Board of Education.

JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Data Systems Support Specialist
REPORTS TO: Data Systems Manager
QUALIFICATIONS
? Two years of college with representative credentials in Data Management
? Minimum of two years experience in data management and analysis methods
? Demonstrated understanding of web server maintenance and troubleshooting
TASK AREAS
? Provide daily, district wide user support for PowerSchool™ web-based, student information system
? Assist daily operation and maintenance of Powerschool™ student information system hardware and software
? Support district student assessment activities including Mastery Manager™ and internally developed system
? Support scheduling, testing, data collection, form scanning, data manipulation, data analysis, data distribution
and reporting of district wide student assessment programs
? Mine and distribute necessary student data to state and federal authorities (i.e., ISIS)
? Other duties as assigned by supervising manager
? Performs tasks required for deployment and management of PowerSchool™, Mastery Manager™, ISIS and others as required
? Install software and software updates for data systems as and when required
? Replace component parts of computers and/or servers as required to support data systems
? Read and interpret technical support documentation and manuals
? Assist in the preparation and implementation of Staff training efforts
? Attend classes and seminars to enhance knowledge of data management systems
? Provide advanced “technical support” to school staff.
? Test, monitor, support, and troubleshoot PowerSchool related issues
? Track and communicate developing data management issues to Data Systems Manager
? Maintain confidentiality I all areas assigned to this position.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
? Demonstrate a strong knowledge of computer hardware, software and data collection technologies (e.g., student assessment software, student information systems, OMR, web servers, computers, servers, etc.)
? Demonstrate clear ability to follow verbal and written instructions exactly and consistently
? Strong computer skills with emphasis in data collection and manipulation (i.e., Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, data file formats, data import/export procedures, ODBC connections, etc.)

? Demonstrate effective oral, written and interpersonal skills

EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of Educational Support Personnel.
