PC/Network Technician

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    The Minimum performance expectations include, but are not limited to, the following functions/tasks:

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills using the English language
    • Advanced knowledge in the operations of computers, printers, and peripherals
    • Ability to analyze and resolve hardware and software problems
    • Experience with computer networking
    • Experience with troubleshooting computers in an educational environment
    • Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with people
    • Must have a valid Driver’s License

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelors Degree in Technology related field
    • A+ certification and network+ certifications
    • Three Years experience with network operations
    • Experience with various support agencies and vendors in technology areas
    • Participation in continuous professional growth (e.g. workshops, in-services and available course work)

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

    • Ability to walk, stand and sit for prolonged periods of time

    • Accurate and speedy keyboarding skills
    • Ability to work with minimum supervision

     RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintain online work request system
    • Configures and installs workstations
    • Maintain and implement computer images
    • Assists with maintaining the District network
    • Sustains online inventory systems of all technology equipment
    • Assist with performing network systems administration on servers
    • Relocate and install technology equipment as needed throughout the District
    • Installs and upgrades District software as needed
    • Assist with the monitoring and reporting of District print services
    • Complete technology related work requests in a timely manner and document resolutions
    • Provide support for all District software/hardware
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    • Evaluated in accordance to the provisions of the policies and procedures of the District

    SALARY:

    • To Commensurate with experience and qualifications

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS:

     

    Work is typically performed driving, walking or standing. The work includes, but is not limited to stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pulling and lifting. Employee must be able to lift objects weighing up to approximately 50 pounds. The environment may expose the employee to potentially hazardous substances. Work is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme temperatures, noise and hazards. Vocal and written communication in English is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work and observing general surroundings and activities. The position requires daily contact with teachers, students, administration, the general public and other work related personnel. The position also requires the abilities to coordinate and prioritize work activity, use a computer for data processing and analysis, email, spreadsheet and word processing tasks.
