QUALIFICATIONS:

  * Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university

  * Type #39 Substitute Certificate, Paraprofessional Approval or other relevant certification

  * Previous experience with working with middle school aged students (preferred)

 

JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Provide individual and small group tutoring to students in Reading, Math, Science or Social Studies (for classrooms exceeding 30 students) facilitating improvement in academic achievement.

 

*Provide Science and/or Social Studies support for students (for classrooms exceeding 30 students) under the direction of the classroom teacher (30-minute sessions for students with similar instructional needs).

 

*Provide intervention support in Science and/or Social Studies in pull-out/small group setting (for classrooms exceeding 30 students, 30-minute sessions for students with similar instructional needs).

 

*Assess, progress monitor and adjust instructional delivery based on the needs of students receiving intervention support.

 

*Collaborate with classroom teachers to schedule (and deliver) services for students in need of assistance.

 

*Participate in professional development/training to enhance delivery and implementation of instructional services.

 

*Collaborate with Facilitators, Coaches and other staff on the sharing of resources and materials to deliver an effective core and/or intervention program.

 

*Communicate with parents regarding the progress of their students, as applicable.

 

*Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
