1.0 FTE teacher on special
assignment: instructional coach responsible for supporting an
RtI and PLC model at the school level, Meadow Lake Elementary
School
Teacher's contract
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
·
Monitor and continuously improve
the implementation fidelity of the PLC across the school by
providing consultation and professional development as
necessary.
·
Work with staff and district
Teaching and Learning Specialists to develop and continuously
improve common formative and summative assessments for district
priority benchmarks.
·
Assist building administration in
developing and sustaining a high-functioning, tiered system of
intervention based on the philosophies and practices of
Response to Intervention.
·
Work with teachers, departments
and teaching and learning specialists to incorporate effective,
research-based intervention strategies within the tiered system
and monitor implementation fidelity. Participate in and serve
as a resource to the problem-solving/TSAT team.
·
Model the use of effective
instructional strategies and plan professional development as
indicated.
·
Work with district Teaching and
Learning Specialists to ensure that curriculum and other
instructional materials used in the classroom are aligned to
the priority benchmarks and consistent with district decisions
about the use of core curricular materials.
·
Analyze assessment data and assist
administration and support staff in students' programmatic
placement
·
Work with other instructional
coaches and district Teaching and Learning Specialists to
continuously improve personal knowledge about high-functioning
PLCs, common assessments, RtI, Equity, and the interface
between academic and behavioral intervention plans.
·
Assist school administration when
communicating with parents and other community members about
PLC and RtI and the benefits to students.
·
Attend all district-level
instructional coaches meetings and training sessions
·
Other duties as assigned by the
executive director for Teaching and Learning (up to 20% of this
position can be devoted to the work of a school PBIS Coach; no
more than 10% can be otherwise assigned by the building
principal).

QUALIFICATIONS
-
Current Minnesota teaching
license; at least 5 years successful teaching experience;
Master's degree and additional certification/coursework in
reading or math preferred.

Advanced preparation/training
for implementing high-functioning PLCs, assessments and
RtI
-
Experience interpreting and
using student assessment data for instructional
planning

Knowledge and experience with
a standards-based delivery model

Willingness to participate in
extensive training throughout the school year

Demonstrated knowledge of all
aspects of the culturally responsive teacher
-
Demonstrated success planning
and implementing large-scale professional development
sessions
-
Demonstrated commitment to
help support a team to be successful.
