Qualifications:

 

Required: 

  • Valid Colorado Special Services License or eligible for Special Services License
  • Counselor Endorsement
  • Secondary or K-12 Level

Preferred:
  • Previous experience as a high school counselor or high school teacher
  • Strong understanding of and belief in "standards"
  • Demonstrated ability to work with needs of high school students
  • Computer expertise or an expectation to learn Infinite Campus
  • Positive public relation skills, professionalism, strong work ethic, ability to develop positive relationships with school and community
  • Ability to demonstrate the communication skills with students, parents, and teachers to enhance the educational, personal, and social aspect of each student
  • Knowledge of individualized learning plans
  • Knowledge of graduation requirements and college entrance requirements
  • Knowledge of career assessments and career counseling
  • Minimum of three years successful teaching experience
  • Previous experience and ability to work with multi-age grouping as well as developing individualized educational plans
  • Experience or course work in multicultural awareness
  • Ability to interpret test information and data
  • Strong commitment to system change and strong evidence of being a "team player"
  • Ability to be flexible
  • Experience with interest inventories (College in Colorado)
  • Experience developing behavior plans
