Qualifications:
Required:
- Valid Colorado Teaching License or eligible for Colorado Teaching License
- Valid Colorado Principal License or eligible for Colorado Principal License
- Master's degree in education or related field
- Strong background in Colorado Academic Standards Based Education
- Strong background and knowledge base in working with High Risk Students
- Ability to supervise and evaluate staff
Preferred:
- Experience in curriculum implementation and standards based education, Response to Intervention, Balanced Assessment System, Understanding by Design
- Experience working with grants and data collection
- Demonstrated ability to work tactfully/cohesively with students, staff, administrators, parents and community members
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Non-Traditional programs for students
- Demonstrated strong communication skills, verbal and written
- Demonstrated excellent work ethic/attitude and ability to take ownership/responsibility for project completion
- Ability to be flexible
- Demonstrated skills in conflict resolution
- Demonstrated team leadership ability and ability to motivate others
- Experience with school finance and budget management
- Demonstrated consensus building skills
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and to meet deadlines
- Multi-cultural knowledge and understanding sensitivity to divers values and cultures within the school community
- Knowledge of standards, assessment and best practices
- High level of analytic ability to concentrate and pay attention to detail and follow through
- Substantial interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- National Institute of School Leadership (NISL) trained
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the development and implementation of the Pueblo City Schools Alternative Education program
- Develop a master schedule to facilitate student success
- Work with families in addressing attendance, academic and behavior issues
- Collaborate with building level Administrators when working with Pueblo City Schools to accurately gather, track and follow student attendance procedures as they pertain to truancy and behavior
- Provide direct support and coordination of the Family Support Team Wrap-around Process for Pueblo City Schools
- Provide families and students with direct support as it pertains to student interventions available through both Pueblo City Schools and the alternative education program
- Collect and manage data as it pertains to the Office of Student Interventions, student achievement and Alternative Education
- All other duties as assigned
- Report directly to Director of Student Intervention Services
