QUALIFICATIONS: This
position requires command of the English language, knowledge of pertinent
academic areas and learning situations, and knowledge of the general needs and
behaviors of high school students.
Must
possess the skill to understand the needs of high school students and to relate
to them in a learning and recreational situation; learn the requirements of
students in the specific learning programs to which assigned; analyze
situations accurately and adopt effective course of action; supervise students
in a variety of situations; establish and maintain accurate classroom records
and files; operate standard office equipment including computer keyboarding,
copy machines, tape records, and projectors; maintain calm and patience in
stressful situations; understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
Must
understand and effectively follow oral and written instructions in an
independent manner; possess adequate typing and computer skills as required for
clerical duties; establish and maintain cooperative and effective work
relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.
Requires
the ability to communicate orally and in writing both in English and the
Spanish language.

EXPERIENCE AND
EDUCATION: General clerical experience and work involving the
supervision of students is desirable.
Completion of twelfth grade is required, preferably supplemented by
college level courses. Demonstration of familiarity with a minority culture is
required.
DUTIES OF
POSITION:
Under supervision assists teachers in the instruction, supervision, and
training of individuals or groups of students by performing a variety of instructional
support and student care activities; performs a variety of related duties to
provide an effective learning environment. This job class provides a variety of
responsible support services and requires a high degree of positive contact
with students and certificated staff.
STARTING SALARY: $ 1,427.17 (monthly)
NUMBER OF MONTHS: 9.4 (to begin as soon as
possible)
NUMBER OF HOURS: 6 (daily working hours 7:30
a.m. to 2:15 p.m.)
