Primary function will be balanced between providing assistance with meal preparation and serving and cashiering during meal periods to students and staff at McKinley Elementary School in accordance with the USDA Child Nutrition Program guidelines. Operates computerized point-of-sale program and monitors meals for compliance with Federal regulations. Work cooperatively with other school staff in the preparation of foods used in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program menus and special function activities. Assist with the maintenance of student and adult meal accounts and with the set-up and clean-up procedures of the meal service operation as assigned. Participate in Food and Nutrition Services professional development activities as scheduled.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to safely lift up to 40 pounds.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Basic math skills including computer applications experience. Certification with the School Nutrition Association at Level 1 within one year from date of employment.
