Special Education Student Assistant

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:                           1.         Good public relations skills.

                                                            2.         High School Diploma or G.E.D.

                                                            3.         Ability to communicate and work effectively                                                          with students and staff.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:           7 1/2 hours a day. Hourly Wage per board policy.

 

REPORTS TO:                                  Supervising teacher and Principal

 

STATUS                                             Non-exempt position

RESPONSIBILITIES:                                   

 

            1.         Instruct students under teacher's supervision.

            2.         Work with small groups or individual students to provide for more child-adult interactions within             the school setting.

            3.         Maintain an atmosphere that is safe and conducive to positive student development.

            4.         Conduct themselves in a professional manner, working to develop their skills, and generally                 assisting to promote a positive school environment.

            5.         Perform classroom/building duties as directed by the supervising teacher or principal.

            6.         Experience working with people who have hearing aids a benefit.
