QUALIFICATIONS
- Accredited Senior High School Diploma or valid (U.S.A. equivalency)

Demonstrated ability to read and understand safety procedures, maintenance instructions, and other procedure manuals

Two (2) years of related experience as a custodian

Knowledgeable in custodial equipment

Must poses skills in managing personnel and supervising building operations
-
Must be knowledgeable in cleaning methods and procedures
-
Skills in effective planning and organizing custodial activities
-
Demonstrated skills in cleaning methods and procedures
-
Knowledgeable in sanitation, safety, and security procedures
-
Must pass the Dallas ISD Random Drug Test
-
Ability to communicate in English by speaking, reading and writing
- Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus
BASIC FUNCTIONS
- Maintain a cleaning schedule that will include cleaning, dusting, and/or vacuuming of floors, carpeting walls, whiteboards, chalkboards, trash cans, windows, glass, furniture, equipment, and restrooms

Supervise, assist, and maintain custodial personnel in using proper techniques with cleaning indoors/outsides of District buildings

Keep school building and grounds neat and clean, including sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and play areas

Plan, coordinate, prepare work schedules, supervise both day and nightshift staff according to District custodial procedures

Maintain and supervise proper use of personal protective equipment
-
Removal and disposal of trash in the cafeteria every 30-45 minutes during breakfast and lunch shifts

Monitor HVAC equipment for environmental comfort according to established guidelines and directives

Maintain inventory, requisitions, and proper storage and usage of all custodial supplies and equipment

Ensures staff is trained and in compliance with the Texas Hazardous Communications Act which includes emphases on safety, storing, handling, labeling, and application of all chemicals. Maintain safety data records for all chemicals being used at the facility

Inspect the facility daily for dames; identify and initiate maintenance work order through School Dude. Must perform quality control check’s in School Dude and provide a status report to Custodial Services Supervisor/Trainer

Inspect employee work sections daily to ensure adherence to housekeeping cleaning

Responsible for securing and setting the building alarms and closing the building

Maintain accurate records on cleaning schedules and vacation planning

Procure materials and supplies for facility. Report all emergency situation and problems, maintenance, and safety concerns to appropriate personnel. Ensure guidelines and established procedures are followed in the handling of problems and emergencies

Maintain professional appearance at all times by wearing appropriate attire to include work pants and DISD Custodial Services issue shirts

Regular attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the job

Maintain good public relations and communication with the principal, coworkers, department heads, supervisors, and other district staff in a professional manner

Lead Night Custodial: Elementary Hours: 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.; Secondary: 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.., but variations maybe required

Perform all other tasks and duties, as assigned
Minimum $12.56/Hr Midpoint $16.08/Hr Maximum $20.63/Hr
