QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's Degree from an accredited university in a related field preferred ; Mid-management or Administrator's certification preferred
  • Five years of directly related educational experience
  • Knowledge of budgeting/accounting, research, evaluation, planning, and project management methodologies and techniques
  • Knowledge of database design and administration
  • Project management skills and experience
  • Leadership skills
  • Advanced computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Windows and expertise with MS Office Professional Applications
  • Ability to use web-based applications such as MyData Portal, ORACLE, online Campus Improvement Planning System, and other district applications relevant to the position
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel within the district
  • Organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position
  • Knowledge of analytical techniques including descriptive and inferential statistics
  • Proficient in the Spanish language or willing to learn

 

BASIC FUNCTIONS

  • Serve in the capacity of coordinating the transition of current Professional Development Department programs to be aligned with Destination 2020
  • Assist in coordinating the Principal Fellows Academy school walk-through and instructional visits
  • Conduct regular campus visits with Principal Fellows and department leadership that include conferring with campus leadership, assessing instruction, and assessing leadership programs and progress
  • Participate in district data reviews, mid-year reviews, and system reviews of schools
  • Conduct out-of-district visits to effective schools and share those strategies to the Principal Fellows
  • Align curriculum accordingly
  • Conduct action research projects
  • Oversee proper business and budget practices of department to ensure effective utilization of funds
  • Support the department effort in the implementation of district initiatives
  • Develop action plans, policies, and procedures to facilitate the management of the program
  • Meet regularly with the Principal Fellows Academy director to discuss progress, review data, and identify professional development, budgetary supports, and resources needed to assist in the improvement of leadership development
  • Provide functional, operational, and strategic planning for department to ensure maximized productivity, efficiency, and value-oriented quality for implementation of all programs
  • Prepare reports and planning documents requiring technical precision, accuracy, readability, and editorial correctness; develop systems based on management by objectives and results
  • Keep abreast of technical, legislative, and professional development affecting assigned responsibilities
  • Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned
