DESCRIPTION:
Assist school secretaries by
performing basic office duties such as answering phones, taking
messages, greeting visitors, entering data, making calls,
sorting mail, making copies, assisting with medical needs of
students, etc.
Salary:
Classified Grade C, $10.99 - $12.63
per hour to start, depending on recent relevant experience. 8
hours per day, Monday - Friday. 187 day work year, paid
over 12 months. Eligible for benefits
DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Enter attendance data
into the computer, run attendance reports, hand out tardy slips,
and write student passes.
·
Answer office phones,
take messages, provide information to callers, and greet
visitors.
·
Contact absent
students and call parents whose children are absent or have
excessive absences and truancies.
·
Assist the secretary
with mail distribution, sorting documents, and newsletters.
·
File materials and
records.
·
Make copies for
teachers and the Principal.
·
Assist secretary with
medical needs of students, including first aid, administering
medications, and assisting ill students.
·
Assist secretary with
other office tasks such as collating papers, work orders, etc.
·
Perform special office
projects as needed.
·
Count and organize
papers to be sent home with the students and post papers on
bulletin boards.
·
Type letters.
May also translate letters, memos, and
newsletters from English to Spanish.
·
Prepare cum folders,
white cards, and health cards for all students for each new
school year.
QUALIFICATIONS:
·
High School diploma or
equivalent required.
·
Certification in CPR
and First Aid required within 3 months of hire.
·
Must occasionally lift
and/or move up to 25 pounds.
·
Must be able to pass a
Colorado and Federal Bureau of Investigation background
check.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Up to 2 years'
experience with basic computer skills, office skills and
communication skills required.
