The day Maintenance
Worker/Custodian will:

Perform regular
cleaning and first-line maintenance in assigned areas
·
Perform cleaning
and maintenance of other areas as assigned (i.e. snow removal,
litter cleanup, washing windows, etc.)
·
Provide setup
and cleanup for special events
·
Report needed
major repairs and maintenance to administration
·
Help students
with problems (i.e. lockers, lost items, etc)
·
Observe and
execute rules, regulations, and safety rules and work practices
of the school/district
·
Punctual and
reliable. Perform duties in a timely manner.
·
Check the HVAC
systems and maintain heat/air as needed. Adjust systems when
necessary.
·
Responsible for
the requisitions and security of custodial supplies and
equipment
·
Remove debris
and hazardous objects on walks and floors (i.e. ice, rocks, etc.)
and ensure all entrances and walks are cleared and safe during
and after snowstorms or other bad weather conditions
·
Remove trash and
debris from school grounds. Trim grass and weeds
·
Check and secure
school premises to provide protection against vandalism and
theft.
·
Maintain
building operating records (warranties, manuals, etc) as
requested (ie. milk coolers, freezers, fire alarm reports,
etc)
·
Pursue
professional development, training and growth opportunities and
required annual training
·
Respond promptly
to accidents, potential safety-problems, restroom problems and
child illness while using/wearing safety and or protective
equipment
·
Ensure that
necessary annual/semi-annual inspections occur (bleachers,
asbestos, fire alarms, fire extinguisher, boiler, backflow
valves, workmen's comp., ROE building inspections) and document
appropriately
·
Maintain
up-to-date MSDS sheets and binders for the building. See that all
inspection cards and MSDS information sheets are properly
displayed
·
Supervise
students and enforce school procedures.
